Research Interests
My research focuses on increasing equitable access to evidence-based children’s mental health care and supporting parents through dyadic treatments. I am particularly interested in increasing caregiver engagement in treatments that promote early relational health and decrease parenting stress, such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. I have investigated parenting stress and relational quality in families with early childhood risk factors, such as perinatal stressors, neurogenetic disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Bridging the gap between research and clinical practice in the community is central to my work. I am currently pursuing two adjacent lines of research: 1) Developing, expanding, and evaluating dyadic treatments to support caregivers, and 2) Identifying and addressing system-level factors that impact service delivery and access, with a focus on therapist anxiety and training.
