Research Interests
I'm interested in the field of gerontology-the study of older adults from a multi-disciplinary perspective. Specifically, I research intergenerational relationships with a particular emphasis on relationships between young adults and older adults. At Cal Poly, I have done research on Lives Well Lived, an intergenerational service-learning program in Psychology of Aging, and how programs such as these might help reduce ageism. I am also interested in caregiving for older adults including intergenerational childcare/adult care centers, sandwich generation caregivers, student caregivers, and caregivers of those with Alzheimer's disease or other cognitive impairment. Another research interest of mine is grief after prolonged caregiving.
