Preschool Learning Lab Welcomes New Early Childhood Teacher

The Cal Poly Preschool Learning Lab welcomes Shondrela Braggs as the new Early Childhood Teacher. She has more than 10 years of experience working in the Early Childhood profession as a preschool teacher/teacher assistant, infant/toddler teacher and supervisor, center director and education supervisor.

Braggs’ teaching philosophy is taken from an African proverb: "It takes a village to raise the child." She values the parents as the first teacher and the community as the classroom. She believes that with effective communication, positive experiences and relationships between the two, the child will thrive.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from Texas Southern University and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.

Braggs has also acquired a national certification in Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). As an observer, she supports the development of quality learning environments within program's preschool classrooms and best teaching practices for preschool teachers.
