New Advisory Committee Brings Student Voice to Department

In an effort to give students more of a “voice,” the department initiated a Department Student Advisory Committee. Faculty selected the 2014-15 committee members from volunteer applications. The committee meets regularly with the chair and associate chair to consult on issues relevant to students in the department. As a result of these discussions, the department has some new initiatives, including a department Facebook page and a reinvigorated Graduate Reception, which was held on May 21.
